Marie D’Costa joined SVCF in August 2024 as executive vice president of philanthropic partnerships. In her role, she oversees the development, donor engagement and corporate responsibility departments, focusing on growing and strengthening donor relationships and impact.

Prior to joining SVCF, Marie was vice president and chief development officer at The New York Community Trust, one of the oldest community foundations in the nation. There, she helped donors with diverse interests create personalized philanthropic strategies and meaningful legacies.

A fundraising professional with 30 years of experience, D’Costa’s expertise spans areas of donor cultivation and engagement, family philanthropy, marketing and strategic grantmaking. In addition to her work in the philanthropy sector, D’Costa serves on the board of several foundations and is a Founder’s Circle member of Women of Color in Fundraising and Philanthropy. Beyond the nonprofit sector, D’Costa has launched, operated and sold five successful businesses.

Born in Chile and raised in Spain, Puerto Rico and New York City, Marie is an equestrian and the proud mother of two adult daughters. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Advertising and a Master of Arts in International Relations, both from the City College of New York, C.U.N.Y.
